Lauterbrunnen
Lauterbrunnen is situated in one of the most impressive glaciated valleys in the Alps in the midst of gigantic rock walls and mountain
peaks. 72 waterfalls cascade over the steep rock faces down into the valley. Staubbach, the most impressive and highest freefalling
waterfall in Europe, inspired Goethe in his poem «Gesang der Geister über den Wassern» (The Song of Spirits over the
Waters). The lively village at the entrance to the valley (796m) is departure point for the most spectacular cable-cars and scenery
in Europe. In summer the numerous footpaths, mountain bike routes and Nordic Walking trails encourage you to come and
explore the area. Those looking for a rush of adrenalin can take advantage of the great selection of adventure activities.
